Anthony Dominick Benedetto (b.Aug 3, 1926 in New York City, d. July 21, 2023) was an enormously popular and successful US singer. His 70+ year career began in the era of many of the greatest interpreters of the Great American Songbook (canon of jazz standards) like Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby & Frank Sinatra. His son Danny helped him introduce these standards (with the help of collaboration with a number of younger singers from Lady Gaga to Sting) to whole new generations of fans in the 1990s & 2000s.
