This concert is a terrific opportunity to affirm our dedication to keep hope and commitment strong in this challenging time that has created fear in many immigrants and people of color in our communities.
Please help us spread the word about this event via this webpage or our facebook invitation.
This will be a singalong concert where all audience participants are invited to sing songs out of the new songbook Rise Again, led by Annie Patterson & Peter Blood, the creators of Rise Again and their original songbook Rise Up Singing.
The concert is sponsored and being organized by Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and will benefit work for racial justice in Maine. This show is part of the Auburn Unitarian Universalist Church's "Concerts for a Cause" series.
If you already have a copy of Rise Again, bring it to the concert. You can buy a copy on this webpage or buy or borrow one on the evening of the concert.
Admission at the door will be by a suggested donation of $20-30 for adults and $5-10 for children under 18. But give what you feel right to give ("Be generous. Be affordable.") If you prefer to pay at the door rather than buying a ticket online, you can email Karen at the church office and ask that a place be held for you via firstname.lastname@example.org.
