Pete's 100th - Providence
Come help us celebrate the life and work of Pete Seeger! Pete was born on May 3rd, 1919. We will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of his birth on Saturday, May 18th in Providence!
Singing together. We will be singing out of If I Had a Hammer, a new collection of songs that Pete wrote or was great at performing and leading which we have created especially to honor his 100th anniversary. Copies will be available to borrow or buy at the concert - or you can buy copies now and pick them up when you arrive.Tickets. We urge you to buy tickets now as we are expecting this concert to sell out. If you do so, give your name at the "will call" list at the door. Tickets also will be available (space-permitting) at the concert for a suggested donation of $20 ("Be generous! Be affordable!") No one turned away for lack of funds.
Building solidarity. The concert will also celebrate and shine a light on the many groups in Rhode Island working for the kind of world that Pete & Toshi devoted their lives. If you would like to table during intermission about what your group is doing, please contact Debbie Block for information.
