Dear Ella
Dear Ella is a musical trio from Western MA that includes Ann Percival (Wild Asparagus, The O-Tones) on guitar, uke, & snare, Mary Witt (The O-Tones) on bass & Annie Patterson (Girls From Mars, Big Yellow Taxi, & Rise Up Singing creator) on banjo, guitar, & snare. These three talented and seasoned performers are a treat to see and hear perform. They came together to form Dear Ella during the pandemic and are so happy to be singing 3 part harmony together! Their repertoire includes songs in many different genres including swing, R&B, and acoustic folk music.

The Dear Ella gig information is often listed first on the The O-Tones' events page (where Dear Ella gigs are llisted along with gigs of the The O-Tones swing band that fellow Dear Ella members Mary Witt and Ann Percival are part of).
The band's name, "Dear Ella", is an homage, a thank you, a love letter to the iconic vocalist and band leader Ella Fitzgerald and also to the inspiring civil rights activist Ella Baker. Someone recently suggested adding the fabulous Ella Jenkins (talented musician, actress & children's performer) to the list of "Dear Ella"s. The Dear Ella trio encourages us all to write love letters to every and all women who have inspired us to stand for justice, sing our truths, and be the best selves we can be.
