Come help us celebrate the life and work of Pete Seeger! We be holding a singalong concert on Friday, May 10th in Concord to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Songleader/performers. This concert will feature Annie Patterson & Peter Blood (the creators of the songbooks Rise Up Singing and Rise Again) along with Charlie King and Sally Rogers, all of whom worked closely with Pete during his life.
Singing together. We will be singing out of If I Had a Hammer, a new collection of songs that Pete wrote or was great at performing and leading. We have created this songbook especially to honor the 100th anniversary of Pete Seeger's birth.Copies will be available to borrow or buy at the concert - or you can pre-order copies now to pick up when you arrive.
Tickets. If you buy advance tickets now, give your name at the "will call" list at the door. Patron tickets include a copy of If I Had a Hammer signed by the artists leading the event. Tickets will also be available at the door (space-permitting) for a suggested donation of $20 ("Be generous! Be affordable!") No one turned away for lack of funds.Solidarity. This concert is a benefit for American Friends Service Committee to support its critical work for peace and justice. This concert will also celebrate and shine a light on the many other groups in New Hampshire working for the things Pete and Toshi believed in and worked for.
