Come to this stirring celebration of the life and work of Pete Seeger on the 100th anniversary of his birth!
Songleader/performers. This concert will feature Annie Patterson & Peter Blood (the creators of the songbooks Rise Up Singing and Rise Again) along with Emma's Revolution (Pat Humphries & Sandy O), Charlie King, and Sally Rogers - all of whom worked closely with Pete during his lifetime. The multi-talented David Rodriguez of Stomp Box Trio will help out on upright bass for this event.
Singing together. We will be singing out of If I Had a Hammer, a new collection of songs that Pete wrote or was great at performing and leading. We have created this songbook especially to honor the 100th anniversary of Pete Seeger's birth. Copies will be available to borrow or buy at the concert - or you can pre-order copies now to pick up when you arrive.
Tickets. We urge you to buy tickets well in advance since we do expect this show to sell out. (If you buy advance tickets online, give your name at the "will call" list at the door.) Patron tickets include a copy of If I Had a Hammer signed by all the artists. Tickets will be at the door (space-permitting) for a suggested donation of $20-30. ("Be generous! Be affordable!") No one turned away for lack of funds.
Solidarity. Pete & Toshi founded The Clearwater organization dedicated to cleaning up the Hudson River Valley. This concert is a benefit for Climate Action Now MA to support their critical work to fight climate destruction and create a sustainable planet. We will also celebrate and shine a light on the many other groups in the Pioneer Valley that are working for the things Pete believed in and worked for.
